We advise businesses of all sizes and sectors on drawing up contracts, and provide straightforward legal advice.
No two commercial contracts are the same. Understanding your business is a vital step in identifying whether it protects your business and your interests.
Your personal commercial solicitor will take the time to find out about your business and objectives. This will then help inform them of any contract recommendations.
Therefore, whether you are a start-up looking to put a contract in place for the first time or a long established business that needs to review its current agreements and terms and conditions, our contract law solicitors can advise you on putting an agreement in place to manage and minimise risks to your business.
On this page:
Writing new contracts
Whilst it is possible to write your own contracts, without a thorough understanding of commercial law, you can open your business up to legal risks.
A commercial lawyer will be able to draft a contract that can protect your business legally.
Before drawing up any contracts, your personal contract lawyer will take the time to learn about your business and its objectives. This allows them to build contracts that are unique to your business and its operations.
Reviewing existing contracts
If you have existing contracts in place you may want them reviewing. This could be because of changes in your business or in legislation.
Failure to review your existing contracts regularly could result in your business being unprotected. For instance, in terms of litigation, loss of revenue and reputational damage.
Your commercial solicitor will be able to review each line of your existing contracts. From this, they can inform you of any potential changes that need to be implemented.
Type of contracts that we can draft and review
At Rothera Bray, we can draft and review a range of commercial contracts. Each with a high level of attention to detail to protect your business.

We were extremely satisfied with the service from Rothera Bray during the process of rewriting our Wills and Side letters. Our Wills are complex and our solicitor clarified the necessary changes and took the time needed to ensure we understood the legalities involved. The service was professional but friendly.

I found Rothera Bray to be professional and responsive. I was glad I used a firm with a local office rather than one of the remote conveyancing companies.

We had the pleasure of dealing with Rothera Bray for our property purchase and specifically Tim Brooke and his team Craig Allsopp and Nikola Dzierzak. Despite a non-straightforward transaction with multiple titles, Tim and his team were excellent from start to finish, always advising us in a timely manner and doing a really thorough job on all the searches and relevant property matters. Once completion took place, Tim and team stayed engaged to ensure the title registration was complete despite the delays at land registry. We cannot thank Tim enough as at several points we thought the property deal might fall through but with the advice, guidance and attention to detail provided by Tim we got there in the end! Thank you.

We have recently purchased a property and had the pleasure of working with Fatima Altaf for our conveyancing needs. She was superb from start to finish, she worked extremely hard and was always professional, friendly and in regular contact with us throughout to make sure we were up to date and well informed of the process. Moving house with a small baby in tow is a tricky process with lots of plates to juggle, but Fatima’s confidence and competence really did make it easier for us and we felt safe and in very good hands with her. We are very impressed and wouldn’t hesitate to use Rothera Bray again in the future.

I cannot thank Chelsey and the team at Rothera Bray LLP enough for their outstanding support. We were facing a highly stressful motoring matter involving a Section 172 allegation alongside a speeding offence, which originally arose because we never received the initial NIP / request to provide driver details in the post. Chelsey was incredibly efficient, swift and proactive. Thanks to her exceptional legal expertise, she acted immediately to negotiate with the Prosecution, successfully getting the Section 172 charge completely withdrawn before the court date. She resolved the speeding offence smoothly without requiring our personal attendance in Court and secured an incredibly favourable outcome (minimum penalty points and zero prosecution costs). Her communication was clear, fast, and deeply reassuring throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend Chelsey and her firm to anyone who requires legal assistance with motoring matters.

Protecting your farm: what farmers should consider before and after marriage
For many farming families, their farm is not just a business but a legacy built over generations, often tied closely to family identity and future plans. Marriage is an important milestone, but it can also bring significant legal and financial implications. Without careful planning, a relationship breakdown could affect both personal finances, and the viability of the farm itself.
