Our serious injury team are supporting survivors of the Nottingham attacks – Wayne Birkett and Sharon Miller – throughout the judge-led public inquiry beginning in 2025.

It follows the events of 13 June 2023, when three people were fatally stabbed and three others had a van driven into them intentionally, causing life-changing injuries.

Below is a timeline of Rothera Bray’s involvement with the survivors and their families.

Senior judge appointed in Nottingham Attacks public inquiry

After attending the Justice session in the House of Commons on 22nd April, we welcomed the announcement that Her Honour Deborah Taylor was chairing the public inquiry.

On Tuesday 22nd April the judge who is chairing the public inquiry into the Nottingham Attacks was announced.

Greg Almond

Greg appreciates the importance of client care and maintains in-person communications with clients rather than relegating important communications to email. Julie has expertise in both Claimant and Defendant litigation making her uniquely positioned to assist with the tactical and strategic considerations of litigation.

As past Regional Coordinator of APIL (Association of Personal Injury Lawyers) and past Vice Chair of the Civil Court Users Committee she has regularly contributed to national and local debate on serious injury matters.

Rebecca joined Rothera Bray in May 2017 and is based at the Lace Market office. She has 19 years’ experience within the personal injury sector where she has built up her knowledge and expertise of personal injury claims.

Rebecca works alongside Partner Greg Almond and deals with a range of personal injury claims, especially catastrophic injuries including brain and spinal injuries, serious orthopaedic injuries, amputation and clinical negligence claims. Along with other members of the team, Rebecca also attends hearings at the High Court with clients.

Rebecca is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL), CILEx Law School and CILEx.
