Award for Personal Licence Holders Course
The BIIAB Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders (APLH) qualification is a requirement for people who wish to apply for their personal licence to enable them to sell alcohol.
It is regulated by the British Institute of Innkeeping Awarding Body (BIIAB).
Our relaxed one-day, face to face course is the first step in gaining that qualification. The trainer for the day is Jo Soar. She has many years’ experience in licensing law and has provided training for BIIAB courses for over 18 years.
Bespoke training for your business
The course will be tailored to your business needs. While we ensure that all attendees will get the information they need to pass the examination, we will also include custom content covering the unique circumstances of your business.
It takes place at our Nottingham city centre office. At present, the courses are planned for every second Tuesday, but there may be some flexibility for group bookings.
In 2026, we have these course dates planned: 9th June, 14th July, 11th August, 8th September, 13th October, 10th November and 8th December.
It starts with registration at 9.45am and finishes at approximately 5.00pm.
During the afternoon a specimen examination paper will be provided. It will be similar to the type and style of questions in the final examination.
Includes BIIAB Level 2 assessment for a personal licence
The day will conclude with an hour-long multiple-choice examination at 4.00pm.
The examination comprises 40 multiple choice questions and delegates need to correctly answer 28 out of 40 questions to pass.
We will provide examination results as soon as they are received from the awarding body.
Successful delegates will receive a certificate issued by the BIIAB confirming that they’ve attained the qualification.
