Nottinghamshire families are still being encouraged to reach out in what is considered to be the largest NHS investigation in history into the maternity services in Nottingham.

The King’s Speech, held in November, outlined 21 bills that the government intends to prioritise over the year ahead. This included housing reforms such as the Leasehold and Freehold Bill, which aims to make it easier and cheaper for leaseholders to purchase their freehold and improve their consumer rights.

In September 2023, the Care Quality Commission (“CQC”) published three reports rating two out of three maternity services run by University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (“UHL”) as ‘requires improvement’, following an inspection carried out earlier this year.
