We detailed the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak in a recent blog that outlined the ways in which many businesses could be prevented from fulfilling obligations under commercial agreements. Further to that, we recently ran a webinar to explain the impact of the issues in more detail. We believe that now is an excellent time for businesses to review their contract terms, please get in touch if you have any questions.
We teamed up with Wren Accountacy to deliver the webinar below on the effects of COVID-19, the contents of the webinar covers the following topics:
- Paul Gayton – Tax & Payroll Director at Wren Accountancy: Measures taken by the government to assist businesses
- Natalie Abbott – Employment Solicitor at Rothera Bray: the job retention scheme and legal issues surrounding this
- Billy Shaw – Contracts & Agreements team at Rothera Bray: the implications for commercial contracts which can no longer be performed
UPDATE ON THE JOB RETENTION SCHEME: Due to the fact that the regulations and guidance on the job retention scheme is so fast paced and dynamic, there has been a slight legal change that supersedes this webinar. The eligibility date by which individuals had to be employed has changed from 28 February 2020 (as per the webinar and slides) to 19 March 2020
