Rothera Bray supports National Road Victim Month

National Road Victim Month

National Road Victim Month takes place annually in August to raise awareness of the dangers and pitfalls of using our roads, and to remember those who have been killed or injured on them.

Why August?

August was chosen as the month for the campaign, which is organised by the charity RoadPeace, to commemorate the first ever recorded death on a road (in 1896) and to honour Princess Diana who was killed in a car crash in Paris in August 1997.

Despite improvements in road safety and awareness, there are still more fatalities on our roads in the UK than are caused by murder and terrorism combined – approximately 80 people per day are injured. These injuries and deaths are all the more tragic because the majority of road traffic collisions and incidents could be prevented by responsible driving and sensible road use.

Understanding road traffic claims

At Rothera Bray Solicitors, we understand that road deaths are sudden and unnatural and families rarely have the chance to say goodbye. We also understand the trauma of being left seriously injured after such an incident.

Our Serious Injury team will sensitively handle your enquiry and help you to seek compensation, rehabilitation and treatment where your injury or loss was caused by the fault of another person or road user.

The impact of serious injuries can be far reaching, affecting your employment, lifestyle, and your confidence. A claim for personal injury compensation can help to get you the rehabilitation and compensation needed to move on from an accident.
