Career Highlights
- Following qualification in 1980, Chris practiced in central London, dealing with civil and commercial litigation cases in the County and High Courts, Court of Appeal and House of Lords, from 1981 – 1996, both as solicitor and Partner
- A particular highlight was acting for private landlords in a Rent Act 1977 “two homes” case in 1985, securing judgement for the client, on appeal to the House of Lords
- In 1996 Chris changed tack to practice all types of family law until 1999 and then he and his family moved to Market Harborough and started at Bray & Bray practising family law

Employment law update: what’s changing from 6 April 2026?
From 6 April 2026 employers will face a number of changes to statutory payment rates and employment law compensation limits. These changes, which are the result of both annual rate adjustments and wider reforms under the Employment Rights Act 2025, will increase employer costs, expand eligibility for workers, and require updates to payroll processes, policies and budgeting.
