The awards, which took place on Friday 22nd April at the Nottingham Conference Centre showcase and celebrate the legal success of Nottinghamshire.

Jayne, who has been with the firm for 40 years, was nominated for the Lifetime Achievement Award on the basis of her impact in the local community, her involvement with Nottinghamshire Law Society’s International Committee and her contributions to charitable organisations.

Upon receiving the award, Jayne said: “I was completely surprised and somewhat overwhelmed to receive this award.  I have been fortunate to have had such a marvellous career in the law and to have this recognised by my peers is a true honour.”

Jayne joined Rothera Bray in 1982 as an articled clerk. She qualified in 1984 and in 1986 was invited to set up and run an office in Wollaton. Just two years later Jayne was made partner.

During her time at the firm Jayne has set up and run her own office, been managing partner, and is a member of Nottinghamshire Law Society’s International Committee. She is also regularly involved in community initiatives, giving talks to Treetops Hospice and the Alzheimer’s Society and established the firm’s relationship with Cancer Research UK and their free wills scheme, raising £3 million for the charity in legacy gifts.

Christina Yardley, Rothera Bray’ CEO said: “We are thrilled that Jayne has been recognised by Nottinghamshire Law Society for her outstanding achievements. Jayne has continuously demonstrated her commitment and dedication to not just our Firm but the wider profession. She has played a pivotal role in making Rothera Bray what it is today; heading up and building our excellent reputation for private client work and I cannot think of anyone more deserving of the Lifetime Achievement Award!”

Rothera Bray’ Senior Associate and head of Personal Injury Greg Almond, Solicitor Billy Shaw and Practice Manager Tony Woodward were also recognised at the awards, where they were shortlisted for Solicitor of the Year, Junior Lawyer of the Year, and Practice Manager of the Year, respectively.
