Mediation for Businesses
Mediation is a form of Alternative Dispute Resolution. It can be used to resolve a wide range of disputes.
It’s usually offered as a method once you have received independent advice from a solicitor and where both you and the other side want to find a solution to the dispute.
Mediation typically consists of an independent advisor working with both parties to reach an agreement by asking questions that help each side to understand the issues and the options available to them for settling their dispute.
Mediation is a voluntary process. However, it is encouraged by the courts and if you should end up before a judge it could weaken your position or lead to adverse cost orders if you have previously refused the option of mediation.
Why use mediation rather than court proceedings?
The process can be quicker, less stressful and more cost-effective than attending court.
Higher settlement rates.
The process allows you to explore and discuss various aspects of the dispute and all available solutions.
You maintain more control of the process, rather than a judge making all the decisions.
It can help you to retain professional relationships by being less confrontational than court proceedings.
It can result in a settlement document that is legally binding and on an equal footing to a court order.
Takes place in a private setting so the result remains confidential.
We can help resolve disputes in the following areas:

Highly recommend Lucy Pettitt and team at Mapperley for conveyancing. They’re clear, responsive, easy to contact in a way that suits you. Miles ahead of previous experience of solicitors for buying a property. First experience of selling a property and all went smoothly.

I've been a client of Rothera Bray for the last few years while negotiating a somewhat lengthy divorce process. It should have been fairly straightforward but there were issues with the other side... However my solicitor (Sarah) was extremely patient, supportive and professional throughout and we finally got the required outcome. I was extremely grateful for all Rothera Bray did in supporting me through the process and I would definitely recommend them to others.

Earlier this week I had an appointment with Solicitor Ed Granger. Ed gave me sound, solid, easy to understand advice regarding the current situations regarding Trusts. He was very professional approachable and knowledgeable. I left feeling reassured and in the know of how things stand with regards to Trusts. Would highly recommend .

Emily and Laura were amazing - [problems with other solicitors in the chain meant our move was delayed several times and made me incredibly grateful to be able to trust my solicitors to act promptly with integrity, honest and competence.

Brilliant service from Julekha and Sarrina . They have successfully completed the conveyancing of one of our properties for our organisation. They are prompt, accurate and responsive consistently. And in a profession not always known for great customer service these two people stand out with a winning formula! All for a reasonable fee. I can’t endorse them both highly enough. Wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

Engaged Rothera Bray to update parents Wills and sort Powers of Attorney etc. Was a little apprehensive at the start as parents are elderly, not in great health and struggle with this kind of thing anyway. However, thanks to the wonderful Talita Fantauzzi it couldn’t have been a more smooth nor painless process for them . Not only is she extremely professional and knows her stuff, her patience and kindness with my mother and father were second to none! A true asset to your business- couldn’t recommend her enough !

I recently had a legal issue I needed assistance with and was told of Rothera Bray by an acquaintance. From my very first conversation with a very pleasant lady called Rebeca, my mind was put at ease. Further along the line I was then in conversations with Chelsey, who too was great. Very professional and informative. I was kept up to date on a daily basis and the two people I mentioned truly made a terrible time, very manageable. I cannot recommend Rothera Bray solicitors enough.
