Careless Driving
Careless driving, also known as driving without due care and attention is an offence which falls under Section 3 of the Road Traffic Act 1988. This charge focuses on the standard of driving and is argued where the level of driving is below the standard expected of a competent and careful driver.
You can face an endorsement of 3-9 penalty points or disqualification, and a fine for a careless driving conviction; the severity of your sentence will depend on other factors including whether you have previous convictions for road traffic offences; whether you have consumed any intoxicating substances; and whether you were speeding far in excess of the legal limit.
Examples of careless driving include tailgating; undertaking; accidentally driving through a red light; pulling out in front of a cyclist or other vehicle; and being distracted by something whilst driving.
At Rothera Bray our motorist defence team understand the implications to you and your family of receiving a careless driving charge, especially where your driving licence is at risk. Our experienced solicitors will work thoroughly to prepare your case so we can successfully examine and challenge the prosecution evidence to improve your chances of being acquitted.

Highly recommend Lucy Pettitt and team at Mapperley for conveyancing. They’re clear, responsive, easy to contact in a way that suits you. Miles ahead of previous experience of solicitors for buying a property. First experience of selling a property and all went smoothly.

I've been a client of Rothera Bray for the last few years while negotiating a somewhat lengthy divorce process. It should have been fairly straightforward but there were issues with the other side... However my solicitor (Sarah) was extremely patient, supportive and professional throughout and we finally got the required outcome. I was extremely grateful for all Rothera Bray did in supporting me through the process and I would definitely recommend them to others.

Brilliant service from Julekha and Sarrina . They have successfully completed the conveyancing of one of our properties for our organisation. They are prompt, accurate and responsive consistently. And in a profession not always known for great customer service these two people stand out with a winning formula! All for a reasonable fee. I can’t endorse them both highly enough. Wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

Engaged Rothera Bray to update parents Wills and sort Powers of Attorney etc. Was a little apprehensive at the start as parents are elderly, not in great health and struggle with this kind of thing anyway. However, thanks to the wonderful Talita Fantauzzi it couldn’t have been a more smooth nor painless process for them . Not only is she extremely professional and knows her stuff, her patience and kindness with my mother and father were second to none! A true asset to your business- couldn’t recommend her enough !

I recently had a legal issue I needed assistance with and was told of Rothera Bray by an acquaintance. From my very first conversation with a very pleasant lady called Rebeca, my mind was put at ease. Further along the line I was then in conversations with Chelsey, who too was great. Very professional and informative. I was kept up to date on a daily basis and the two people I mentioned truly made a terrible time, very manageable. I cannot recommend Rothera Bray solicitors enough.
