With over a decade of experience in private client work, Sam has extensive experience in the complexities involved in estate and trust administration. His work spans probate, trust creation and management, inheritance tax, and obtaining grants of probate in unusual circumstances.

Sam aims to give a calm, clear-sighted approach, helping clients make informed decisions during emotionally challenging times. He takes time to understand each individual’s circumstances, offering practical solutions with clarity and care.

Career Highlights

  • Sam joined a national law firm in 2014 as a paralegal and, whilst working, studied and trained towards becoming a Chartered Legal Executive. While at this firm, Sam specialised in estate administration, particularly dealing with those where no Will was left (‘intestate’).
  • Following nine years at that firm, Sam gained further experience in probate and trust work at a well-established Wiltshire law firm and another UK-wide legal practice before joining Rothera Bray.
  • Sam joined Rothera Bray as an Associate in the Wills, Probate and Trusts team in June 2025

  • Between 2015 and 2023 Sam studied and trained to obtain the CILEX Fellow (FCILEX) qualification alongside working in a paralegal position at an Oxford-based firm
  • In 2022 Sam qualified as a CILEX Lawyer and separately obtained his CILEX Probate Practice Rights
