Gill Subbarao is a Paralegal in Rothera Bray’s Wills and Probate department and is based at our Mapperley office.

In her role as a paralegal in the Wills and Probate department, Gill assists the team with a wide range of matters including the creation of new Wills and the preparation of Powers of Attorney.
Gill is friendly and approachable and prides herself on having a good eye for detail, ensuring that clients’ needs are fully taken care of.

There has finally been a breakthrough in the deadlock surrounding the Government’s Employment Rights Bill (“ERB”), which has been the subject of significant back-and-forth between the House of Commons and the House of Lords in recent weeks. In particular, there has been much debate around the qualifying period for unfair dismissal claims but it now appears that a compromise has been reached to enable the ERB to pass without further undue delay.

The 2025 Autumn Budget has brought real changes for property owners, landlords, and families – but not the sweeping tax overhaul that many expected. While chancellor Rachel Reeves left stamp duty unchanged, she declared a new annual ‘council-tax-style’ surcharge for £2m+ homes, higher income tax on rents from 2027, and incremental updates to capital gains tax (CGT) and inheritance tax (IHT).
