As a Senior Associate Solicitor in Rothera Bray’s Wills and Probate department, Carly can advise clients on estate administration, the administration and creation of trusts and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
Carly acts for a number of vulnerable clients and provides a friendly and compassionate approach, taking the time to get to know her clients, making them feel comfortable and putting them at ease, while communicating with them clearly and concisely.
Career Highlights
- Carly has worked in Law since she was 20 and began her legal career as a Secretary for a high street firm in Basingstoke from 2007-2009
- In January 2010 Carly joined a national law firm as a Helpline Assistant before progressing to the role of Legal Assistant in the firm’s Probate department
- In January 2012 Carly joined a Berkshire based law firm as a Legal Secretary
- In May 2013 Carly commenced her training contract with the same Berkshire based law firm as above, qualifying as a solicitor in April 2015
- In 2015 Carly relocated to Derby and joined Bray and Bray where she worked as a Private Client Solicitor, before being promoted to Associate in 2019
- In October 2021 Carly joined an East Midlands based law firm as a Private Client Solicitor before being promoted to Associate in January 2023
- Carly joined Rothera Bray as a Senior Associate Solicitor in October 2023

Breakthrough on Government’s Employment Rights Bill: what employers need to know about unfair dismissal
There has finally been a breakthrough in the deadlock surrounding the Government’s Employment Rights Bill (“ERB”), which has been the subject of significant back-and-forth between the House of Commons and the House of Lords in recent weeks. In particular, there has been much debate around the qualifying period for unfair dismissal claims but it now appears that a compromise has been reached to enable the ERB to pass without further undue delay.
