Rothera Bray trainee solicitor shortlisted for Young Achiever of the Year Award at the Personal Injury Awards 2023

Abagail Clarke Young Achiever of the Year

We are delighted to announce that our Trainee Solicitor Abagail Clarke has been shortlisted for the Young Achiever of the Year award at the Personal Injury Awards 2023.

Julie Walker, Serious Injury Consultant at Rothera Bray

The Personal Injury Awards take place annually and represent the pinnacle of professional excellence nationally, showcasing the best and brightest lawyers the sector has to offer.

Abagail has been shortlisted for her work in recognition of her dedication, expertise and the unwavering support offered to clients and their families who have been the victims of medical mismanagement or catastrophic events or accidents.

Greg Almond, Head of the Serious injury team at Rothera Bray said: ‘We are exceptionally proud of Abby being named as a finalist in this prestigious and competitive category. It is National recognition of what we have always known – that Abby is a fierce yet compassionate advocate for her clients and their families’.

Abagail’s nomination reflects her interest and passion for inquest related work which is a driving force in ensuring the safety of patients. At a time when local Hospital Trusts are under intense scrutiny for failing patients locally, not least with the Ockenden Inquiry which is the largest review of maternity provision in the UK, the work of Abagail, and the broader Serious Injury Team at Rothera Bray, is needed to champion the rights of local families who have suffered loss or serious injury whilst in hospital.

Abagail said of her nomination: ‘I am honoured to have been shortlisted for this National award. I feel very strongly that as lawyers we must keep our clients at the heart of all that we do – continually ensuring that all work undertaken for them is carried out in a manner that puts their interests first. I also want to thank the whole team at Rothera Bray for their ongoing support of me, and for the first-class training and development I have always benefitted from by working alongside them’.

The Awards Ceremony will be held in Manchester on 23 November 2023 which Abagail will attend with some of her team members.
