Training contracts open

We’re thrilled to announce that training contracts are now available.

If you’re looking a train for your legal specialism at a progressive, thriving law firm, apply now. Rothera Bray have eight offices in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire, so we’re looking for applications from across the East Midlands.

We’re currently recruiting for contracts starting in both April and September 2026.

 

Train to be a solicitor

We’d welcome your application if you:

  • have a minimum 2.1 degree in Law (or Law conversion)
  • possess exceptional communication skills
  • are friendly and approachable
  • are a team player with strong IT skills
  • are self-motivated and keen to learn
  • are able to think creatively to find solutions
  • are either studying or have completed the LPC or the SQE 1 and 2

Please note that we’re unable to offer visa sponsorship at present.

The deadline for applications is Friday 7th November 2025. As part of the application process, you will need to attend a Trainee Assessment Day on Tuesday 2nd December 2025.

 

Contracts available

We don’t limit the number of training contracts we have available, although it will depend on the needs of the firm and the calibre of applications.

We also need to to ensure that we have the resource to provide you with meaningful work and the the expert mentorship you need from us.

 

The assessment day

Our assessment day takes place on Tuesday 2nd December 2025 – so save the date!

It’s a relaxed affair at our Nottingham City Centre HQ, and consists of:

  • Breakfast at 8:30am 😋
  • Intros and a team-building exercise
  • Lunch and chance to meet colleagues from the firm
  • Further exercises in the afternoon, finishing around mid-afternoon
