We're recruiting: Private Client Solicitor
Job description
As a Private Client Solicitor, you will handle a diverse caseload, including:
- Drafting wills and lasting powers of attorney (LPAs)
- Advising on inheritance tax and estate planning
- Administering estates and probate matters
- Managing trusts and advising trustees
- Supporting elderly and vulnerable clients
You will play a key role in the team, building strong client relationships and contributing to the growth and success of the department.
Responsibilities of this role
We are looking for a solicitor who is:
- Qualified (3+ PQE) in Private Client law
- Experienced in handling a broad range of private client matters
- Confident in client-facing situations with excellent communication skills
- Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- A member of STEP (or working towards it) – desirable but not essential
Skills, experience and attributes
- Strong technical knowledge of private client matters, including wills, probate, estate administration, and trusts
- Excellent client care skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain long-term client relationships
- Clear and empathetic communication, particularly when dealing with sensitive or complex personal matters
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in drafting legal documents
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a varied caseload effectively
- Commercial awareness and the ability to provide practical, tailored legal advice
- Problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-focused approach
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Professional, discreet, and client-focused approach at all times
- Commitment to maintaining up-to-date legal knowledge and continuous professional development
